Through the Windscreen

Escape to the Countryside.

It was an alternately sunny and wet first Spring week end. En route home, as Dom was driving, I captured a few images of the lovely Somerset and Wiltshire countryside.

The roads snaking ahead took us through the sheer beauty of it all, from wide landscapes and hill tops …..

… and fields and hills farmed and cultivated throughout centuries …..

… like this view across from the house on my Friday walk around the village, all the richer for trees that often dominate the skylines.

Bushes across Salisbury plain, trimmed to military precision, amused me. They were all like that along the road!

Ahead on one side or another, we chased a tantalising patch of rainbow, in an ever-changing big sky.

It was great to just meander our way home and feast our eyes!

On Saturday I had got my ‘must-have’ view of Wells Cathedral …..

…and a glorious countryside sunset …..

… nearly all through the car windscreen!

All in all it was a great Spring weekend, doubly/100% perfect by being with our Son and his Family who made their escape to the country many years before.
