“Spectacle” ….. An Arbour Tale
An Arbour Tale
All the Teds at the Mas, wanted to perform a show; ”Un Spectacle in a Bread Box”!!
The Gruffalo’s mouse, this one is called Ratatouille, would be The Master of Ceremonies: he’s the one wearing the silver necklace.
Here he is with four players who will compete for the best performance.
The Audience will clap when they enjoy the show; and Snowball, the sheep, will be the final Judge.
Everyone is ready: “Tahraahhhh!”
Ratatouille introduces the first contestant…..
…..”Here is the first player, Jhobi!”
“Now he’s gone!” ….. “What was he doing?”
Mutterings of, ”Humph, didn’t think much of that!”, and “Wow, he did absolutely nothing, that’s really lazy!” were whispered around the watching Teds and friends.
…”And now for the singing duet, Potter and October Rose!” proclaimed the Master of ceremonies!
They sang: they whispered in each other’s ears; it was lovely!
“Hurrah!” clapped the audience: they really enjoyed the singing, especially the dramatic Finale.
“Last, but not least …” declared Ratatouille, the MC, “Put your hands together for Sky!”
The audience waited, everybody holding their breath and staring at the stage! What was Sky going to do?
“Wow!” gasped Pluto! Dentella nearly fainted!
He did ‘head-over-heels’.
He bowed, before finally, disappearing into the closed stage.
An awed silence followed his acrobatics.
Then he joined the others for the end of the show.
MC Ratatouille announced, “Snowball will now declare the winner!”
“The winner, by mutual adoration, is the Duo, Potter and October Rose!” declared Snowball.
The Duo took their bows, and Potter gallantly gave October Rose another twirl for the adoring audience.
Everyone congratulated Snowball and Ratatouille and all the wonderful performers.
Then they all clambered onto the stage……
….and said “Goodnight!”
….and as the stage closed down…..whispers of…..”What were you doing Jhobi?”
“I was miming ’Being Lazy’!” said Jhobi.
“Cor, that was quite inventive!” said a voice from the assembled audience in the bread box, “You could have won with that!”……
“Too late to say that now!” said another…..
