Summer Fayre 2017!

Where do we even start? Today was just the most incredible, non-stop wonderfulness and we can't tell you all how unbelievably grateful we are to you for coming along and supporting us!We'll let you know the final total raised as soon as we've counted it all at the start of next week but what we do know is that we raised close to £3000 just on the gate, and more than £1000 on the BBQ. Which is just overwhelming to think what that generosity will do for the families here at the Hospice. Those are record breaking totals for those two areas, by the way.Despite there being hundreds of people who have made today possible, we'll do our best to mention all of you. If we have missed anyone and you sit there thinking "I helped too", please know that we love you and your contribution is so enormously appreciated! So, we would like to say a huge thank you to the local supermarkets Marks and Spencer, Tesco, Sainsbury's and everyone else who so kindly donated the food, drink, cups, packets of sugar and all the items like that which are so crucial, and so easily taken for granted. Special mention must also go to Iced Jems for the cakes that came in from them on the day – DELICIOUS!All of the volunteers, of which there are an army, who quite simply make our work possible. They graft, and they graft and then when they start to tire and grow weary…they pick themselves up and graft again. They are the heroes of the Hospice, and we simply can't tell them what their donation of time, talent and effort means to us.All of the entertainers, musicians and unbelievably talented people who kept us all singing, dancing and smiling for hours on end.All of the stall-holders from the likes of Powerleague Halesowen, Boing Zone Trampoline Parks – Stourbridge, My Farewell, the Volleyball guys, Slimming World and everyone else who came along to put on such a fantastic day for our families!Catherine and everyone involved in running the two football tournaments on the day, they were absolutely sensational. Thank you also to the fantastic companies who donated prizes and to M.Webb Groundworks & Plant Hire for sponsoring the tournament.Thank you to Vets4Pets Stourbridge for putting on such a fantastic dog show, the puppies loved it! And to Andyfreight Ltd for providing our incredible main stage, IN THE BACK OF A LORRY!!!To everyone who entered and supported the Make-and-Bake tent, thank you – your entries were incredible and it was so difficult to choose a winner in each category. A HUGE thank you to our special guests Fizzog Productions, Louis Johnson BCyA fundraising page, Wagner Fiuza-Carrilho, Mayor of Dudley, Dave Tyler, former- West Bromwich Albion star Jay Chambers and all of the deserving amazing princes, princesses and Queen who led our parade. Thank you also to Mommy's mascots & more and Funtime Theatre for bringing so many of your friends along, the kids absolutely loved Anna, Elsa, Moana, Belle, The Beast, Prince Charming, Snow White, Iron Man, PAW Patrol and everyone else who came along today! To B Squadron from the Army for coming along to support the day, and the PCSO's who checked in just to make sure we were all alright. And finally, and maybe most importantly, to you – you beautiful, beautiful people. You've made today one that we'll never forget. Right now, the Hospice remains open and our nurses, volunteers and clinical team are working away – as they do every day of the year, 24 hours a day. Today, you people have made that possible and for that we can never truly express how grateful we are.We love you all, and we hope you have a wonderful evening. Now, if we could be so bold, we're going to have a cup of tea for 5 minutes and try and take in everything that happened today. Thank you so much <3

Absolutely brilliant to see such a good cause getting this amount of support – and I can tell that parting with some financial support for the hospice was pretty painless, verging on very enjoyable. Well done to whoever had the responsibility to organise it – can tell it didn’t all happen without a lot of effort.
