Gertie’s Garden Diary, Yellow September 2018

Gertie’s Garden Diary, Yellow September 2018

At the beginning of September, bird sown Sunflowers dominated the Sun-room patch, being currently used as a Nursery.
The tallest Sunflower progressed and enjoyed visits from bees and by 4th and then the 7th September it looked like this. Pollinators loved it.

. Its centre changed and by 12th Sept, it was as pictured below.

It’s a lovely flower and so far has survived heat and cool rain. Many yellows …

… amongst the pinks and blues …..

… Yellow predominates in my mind ….. it’s the serendipity of those Sunflower appearances which entrances me …..

… but see that one, that scruffy wriggly one, in the middle? …..

… it ended up as Sunflower shreds! I couldn’t help being reminded of Karen’s squirrel in her Sunflower!” Wish I had seen this one … little beggar!

Anyway, so far yellow is my colour for September.

I was arrested and entranced by your sunflowers, Anne – especially as it’s grey and wet here this morning. Gorgeous pictures to brighten my day – thank you.

I do so love colours Cilla, and those sunflowers turned out to be gorgeous as you said. Yellow was always my favourite colour as a child; my brother favoured blue …. strange how these little memories come back to one :cute: :rose:

A gorgeous riot of colour Anne, brightened my morning too, which is a duplicate of Sheila’s.

I am so glad that you’re cheered by the colours Karen, especially, as without your help, and Dom’s subsequently, they would not have appeared  Thank you…sun’s coming out here again…on’off, in/out :notacloudinsight: :sun-clouds: :notacloudinsight: :clover: :rose:
