Back to South Norwood Country Park!

Back to South Norwood Country Park!

It was a bright, sunshiny day, with the sun in our faces and casting a halo of light around a little girl’s hair… a little girl who next decided that dandelion fluff was as good as candy floss and stuffed the whole thing into her mouth!
The sunshine was glorious in the woodland areas, where it threw shadows onto pathways and dappled the still green leaves with burgeoning autumn colours.

I found the Spindle Berries too, still shining pink, and other small shrubs, like Dogwoods, gradually taking on traditional colours of Autumn. It seemed though that the long, hot drought had affected much of the pastureland and even the trees; there were many shades of brown and only occasional outbursts of glorious colour. Glowing light and shade made the prettiest pictures.

From the car window, it was still so green in the woody edges; but evening sun on the Horse Chestnut, seen from the Glassroom window back at home, was lovely.
