Hello Again.

I just looked and my last blog was in March 2017, so nearly 2 years ago.
So I will start by saying Hello to old friends and to new ones too.
Dec, Jan and Feb are the summer months down here in Australia. The time of year when all the plants are open and some days too hot for plants and me. We had 43.9C last weekend and some of my Frangipanis burnt as I would do if I was out in the sun….me being a fair English Rose ( cough cough). I am glad that at this time of year there is plenty of sport to watch on the TV in the A/C when it is too hot to venture outside.

In the 2 years since I was last here not a lot has altered, I still have my two rescue dogs Minnie the Kelpie and Hugo the Labrador

…..they had ruined my fern garden, so last October I redid it and put a fence around it. It took me about 2 weeks…..have to work a bit then sit a bit. This is the before.
This is now, well part of it.

I am still a Frangipani Frangiholic…..bought 2 cuttings and 2 plants recently.
The flowers of one of my recent purchases “Col’s Cooktown Sunset”………….I so love it.

Hubby is still going along ok, he does have heart failure but the meds the cardiologist has him on seem to keep him pretty good. We celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary last month.

The pool area has filled out in the past 2 years

I have taken a lot of Hibiscus cuttings all thanks to Allan for telling me how to do hard wood cuttings years ago.

I have also passed his knowledge on to others.

That’s all for now folks, I am glad I found out how to put the photos on.

  1. Lovely to see your place, Star. I love ferns – I love your frangipanis too but this goes without saying

Hi Star, great to get an update on your lovely garden and like Jane I love your ferns. The new fern area looks great, I presume it is in the shade though. ;-) You can make your photos bigger as you are putting them on, if you want. The right hand side panel on the Media Library page, gives size options. The pool area looks gorgeous too, and I spotted your Bali hut. :good: Thank you, for posting this, so good to see some sun and beautiful blooms.

It is all looking beautiful Star and so lovely to have you here again. I love that pool area, the trees and shrubs look great and I am a fern lover also. Air con must be essential over there with your rising temperatures. Stay cool ;-)

Hallo Star, lovely to ‘see’ you again :good: :-) and I love that “Col’s Cooktown Sunset” …. it’s a beauty :good:
I am still amazed that your ferns grow so well in such a warm part of the World! I had always equated ferns with a cool, damp climate.
    they are lovely :good: :rose:
