Water and Willow in November.

Water and Willow in November.

As I rounded the corner, gold leaf shone from the autumn growth over the low fence and looking up ahead I saw red and green trees and branches.

To the left, is a small lake in which an island in the middle is reflected …

… and on the bank by the corner, a magnificent old Willow bows down over the water. I walked to the corner then chose the uphill path past the coloured trees, finally reaching a view down to the lake on the other side, near to the bridge that leads to the old Oak tree from the opposite side to that which I first approached it.

The range and depth of colours astonishes me and it changes again when I finish my walk in the last part of this protracted diary.

This picture reminds me of little story books I read as a child, yet it’s from a real photograph!

… And so back to the Oaks and Beech trees, and a golden-leafy path homewards.
