Not too bad thanks Anne. I have grown a few veggies this year which are now being harvested and my flower garden is coming back to some sort of order but the weeds are still winning the battle. Health wise I am now feeling much better but have the occasional off day (don’t we all?). I have been following GC on a daily basis and I hope to be…[Read more]

God, please don’t tell me you have mixed strawberries with Scotland’s finest and if you have put sugar in it you should be ashamed.

Far be it from me to cross the lovely Cilla ;-) but I think your plant is a Campanula ! Penstemons have trumpet shaped flowers and different markings in their throat. Penstemon Westminster is, I believe a purple colour with whitish and red markings in the throat. God I hope she don’t send the boys round after me if I’m wrong :excruciating:

Morning all, WOW what a difference the new site has made, a fantastic piece of work by one and all! Sadly, my condition has not improved much but I can now walk around a mile without a stick . I am allowed to do some gardening but no lifting or digging, better than nothing I suppose. I will try to read all of the new innovations and reply to…[Read more]

Morning all, winter has certainly arrived in Somerset, average night time temperatures in my greenhouse have not exceeded 6 degrees last week so the tomatoes have stopped growing and are getting more watery by the day. May be time to get them out and set up a new arrangement for next year. HAGD folks :good:

    • Have a good day Bill, without overdoing it ;-) I bet you’re sick of hearing that, but hey ;-) :rose:
have you got a big greenhouse with a chair and a heater etc? I am still harbouring inclinations for one myself  Will see how it goes when I have sorted the shed properly

    • Good morning Bill :rose: Funny old year for temperatures. If we are to believe the forecasters we’ll have higher than average temps in October. So, on that say so, I’ve just planted some late Antirrhinums, fool that I am  Did you grow ‘Shirley’ this year, I had one which self seeded from last year, still green at the moment but looking healthy :good:

I have installed Windows 10 on one of my laptops. Lots of bells and whistles but not much difference to Windows 8.1.
A word of warning however, if you use any of the Windows Office Suite, Excel, Word etc. via the cloud it will not let you use it as this product is one licence for every device you have. I currently use the cloud quite a bit as I…[Read more]

Morning all, cracking day so far. Windows 10 now up and running, quite impressed so far. Runner beans are going away great this year can’t same the same about the tomatoes though. Night time temps are struggling to reach ten degrees so they have slowed down dramatically. Impressed with my self blanching celery and sweet corn though. Parsnips…[Read more]
