Hi my lovely :-) Funny thing with the beans this year, plenty of vegetative growth and not many beans  Enough for us to eat but none in the freezer so far. The vole runs are all around the bird feeders so it’s clear what’s attracting them. ;-) Hw are you doing sweet pea? :rose:

It’s a hover I think Cilla, you know the ones that come and look you straight in the eye ;-) I love the wallowy waviness of the blooms Jane, this is quite a big clump now ;-)

Good afters everyone :-) It’s a grey old day here again and the runner beans are cutting more light! I just may have to give them a prune. ;-) It’s vole city in the front garden, the lawn looks like it has a whole working civilisation below it with raised grassy banks all over the place. :giggle:
    • Afternoon Petal, those beans are looking very healthy. :good: Not so clever on the vole problem.

    • I’m coming down with runners, I’m grand thank you sweetie, though A working outside Dublin for another few months isn’t so clever, especially as I wanted to sort out a holiday, all on hold again for now. :bad:

    • Lucky you! I think it was down to not much water this year, either that or the vole has been pruning the roots :excruciating: That’s a bummer re A :disappointed: Mind you it does give you a bit more time to plan it :good: Any idea where you might go? :-)

    • I’m looking at Sri Lanka, but that might be a pipe dream. How’s you petal? ‘

    • Oh wow K, that would be fabulous!! You could whizz down and visit K in Singapore ;-) I’m OK, keeping busy and have just ordered a new monitor for photography, so a happy bunny :-)

    • Hi Hayley :high-five: Lovely show of runner bean plants. I have just one , out of two, that is growing and priducing super beans… at last  Enjoy Camera club tonight :good: :rose:

    • OMG, Karen, I worked there for 2 years! Amazing! If you want tips, just ask!

    •    Of course I want tips Jane! Will PM you. :good:

    • You are going to use 2 screens I hope H? Way easier with photos. :good: Aye, it will be fabulous if it comes off!

    • What a great post……….rampant voles. rampant bean leaves, exotic holidays and techie talk on photo screens which I haven’t a clue what you’re talking about

    • I’m working on a reply :good:

    •  Thank you Jane. :good:

    • Yes, a funny thing Anne that. I think it’s lack of water for me.

    • Not certain yet K as it’s a 27″ and I could just split the screen. Can’t wait for it to arrive, it’s 100% sRGB and Adobe RGB so should be pretty colourful ;-)

    • Give you a clue Cilla…neither do I. :giggle:

Evening Cilla :rose: Yes, a bit of a grey old day and not really enough colour on the trees yet to brighten the skies, but that will happen soon enough. Shoe fly is still blooming gorgeous! Must have been that clever seed supplier ;-) :rose:

Yes Lynn and the butterflies :good: A good few bored wasps about too  Hope you’re feeling a little better sweet pea. :rose:

  • You’re welcome Ruth, hope it was a success for you :good:

  • Hayley posted a new activity comment 2 weeks ago

Oh Lynn that’s so not nice, hope you’ve had a gentle on yourself day, plenty of TLC :rose: ;-)

    • Evening Hayley, yes a very gentle day, lots of tea and a prolonged afternoon snooze, feeling somewhat better, so a early night, plus all the honey from our bees and lemon hot drinks :good:
      Hope you are ok? :rose:

      • cilla replied 2 weeks ago

That’s rotten Lynn, it must be those kiddiwinks, unhealthy little monsters ;-) Glad you are feeling a little better now, though. Flowers and hugs coming your way :-) :rose: :rose: :rose:

Good afters all :rose: It’s been a bit of a grey day today but the garden is still in full bloom. This little wild Scabious is attracting a good few hoverflies and other pollinators so I think I’ll be saving some seed ;-)
    • Hi Hayley, a lovely close up, the flowers do seem to be getting a second wind to bloom, our bees are still very busy :good:

    • Yes Lynn and the butterflies :good: A good few bored wasps about too  Hope you’re feeling a little better sweet pea. :rose:

    • cilla replied 2 weeks ago

Good evening my lovelies. I love scabious, I buy lots for the garden for the bees :-) It has been very grey here and chilly :-(

    • Evening Cilla :rose: Yes, a bit of a grey old day and not really enough colour on the trees yet to brighten the skies, but that will happen soon enough. Shoe fly is still blooming gorgeous! Must have been that clever seed supplier ;-) :rose:

    • Great photo petal, :rose:

    • On closer inspection that is a brilliant picture of the wasp/bee head :good:

    • Gorgeous, Hayley and I love that it’s a ‘wild’ scabious :good:

    • It’s a hover I think Cilla, you know the ones that come and look you straight in the eye ;-) I love the wallowy waviness of the blooms Jane, this is quite a big clump now ;-)

  • You could use any plum Lynn and you will have a glut, you will… :blowkiss: :fingers-crossed:

    ;-) :rose:

  • Here’s a good way to use some of the ‘glut’ harvest at this time of year and it’s very tasty, quite low sugar too.
I’m not very good at guessing how much it weighed but the photograph shows all the jars it filled!

I mixed some with mayo and chicken for tonights supper and it made an interesting take on ‘Coronation Chicken’

    Enjoy! :-)…[Read more]

Yes Lynn, I know what you mean. ;-) I also love winter as well, especially when the sun is low in the sky and it casts shadows everywhere :-)
