He’s getting lots of practice then ;-)
A very large airing cupboard? I don’t even have a very small one

    • It’s actually any size of airing cupboard Jane. Traditionally where the hot water tank was located, so shelves/cupboard round it where towels/clothes could be aired and stored. A press is a cupboard, so all sorts of presses here, but “hot press” is the only one in common use, though you would still hear older folk talking about a kitchen press,…[Read more]

Hi Karen :-) work done – took longer than I expected :bad: raised beds have their downsides – not many but they’re a pain to shift/repair!

    • At least it’s finished. :good: I love my raised beds, but yes, they are a pain when repairs/replacements are needed. ;-) How many have you got now?

      • Hi Karen :-) 7 big ones and 6 quite small ones. The small ones are on the concrete where we want to park the van – also on the concrete are 2 builders’ bags that I also use as raised beds. I managed to half empty and then drag one of them to a better place (for the van ;-) ). It doesn’t get an awful lot of sun there and so I’m sure I won’t miss…[Read more]

    • That is a good number to have Jane, hard work emptying builder’s bags, don’t envy you that task. :bad: Will you be able to relocate the small ones, or maybe you don’t need to move them? Why on earth would you go to somewhere not nice?  I’m sure you will have lots of fun travelling about.

Made me laugh, Tina! I often (well, maybe not so often ;-) ) have to turf my OH off his computer chair for the same reason… Have a good day :-)

Morning Karen :-) not exactly sure what your hot press is but I hope you get it sorted today :fingers-crossed: How was OH’s interview? Have a good swim and we can catch up later :-)

    • Morning Karen and Jane, A hot press is a very large airing cupboard Jane. Yes, let us know how OH went on. Enjoy that swim :-)

      • Morning Cilla and thank you for explaining, keep forgetting that “hot press” is local to Ireland. ;-)

    • Morning Jane, Cilla has it spot on. :good: hopefully sorted now – will wait and see. ;-) Aye, OH thought it went fairly well, but think there will be a second round of interviews for that one. He has another one tomorrow down South. Am fast losing track.

  • Morning clickers :-) weather doesn’t look particularly good at the mo but it’s not fully light yet, so I’m not sure what’s on the cards. Trying to sort out some of the raised beds on the concrete as more room is needed – probably won’t all be done this year though. Got a tiny essay arriving for proofreading this morning – won’t take me long. Hope…[Read more]

    • Morning Jane, here I am ;-) A good project for you, sorting the beds. I hope you get some playtime after your proofreading :-)

    • Hope the work went quickly – and easily Jane. A few of my raised beds need the wood replaced, am trying to cajole OH into sorting it out quickly – in case he gets a new job soon. ;-)

Morning Anne :-) I’m of the belief that the mind never actually forgets anything and springs memories on us, wanted or not :good: :bad:  Enjoy the sunshine :-)

    • As I have repeated many times Jane, my Mum used to say [sometimes a little wistfully, sometimes with smug satisfaction :-) ] “They can’t take away your memories Anne” :rose:

Hello Anne :-) I don’t like the roses in this garden and just chop them when I feel like – they always grow back

Morning Cilla :-) hope you have a traffic-free trip – surely all the kids will be having a lie in and make everyone else leave late  Have a safe trip and enjoy yourself in that lovely part of the country. Lots of nice photos, please :rose:

    • Morning Jane. Lots of photos, shall be saving them up for your comp  The fox food was gone again including two eggs and some spiced apple crumble but I shan’t see the pics until thursday evening. I haven’t seen pregnant baby fox at all, just Demelza her daughter so I hope she’s sharing the biscuits with her mum, it has been known :fingers-crossed:

  • Morning clickers :-) just hung some washing up and rescued a ladybird from the bottom of the basket  A clear-ish sky, so I hope to be outside for as much as possible while it’s nice weather. Hope you all have a good day :-)

  • NorthernTeacher posted a new activity comment 2 days, 18 hours ago

Morning Karen :-) fingers definitely crossed for OH :good: I thought the street would be quiet here as it’s half term but the Council have chosen this week to close part of the main road for some work (taking advantage of the lack of parental traffic) and are using my street for a diversion  I hope your pool is empty when you get there…[Read more]

About 5″ of the front to do, Cilla! What are chips?

  • Evening clickers :-) well, the edge of the lane was just the right dampness to pull out the grass along the edge and get it back to the width it should be :good: I’m aching all over now but I’m glad it’s done. It started to rain just as I finished. Other than that, I’ve been knitting and reading. Making a chicken and leek thing for dinner – think…[Read more]

    • Hi Jane. You have been busy. How’s the knitting going? Your dinner sounds good. We are having cold ham, poached egg…..and naughty chips  OH is watching the football so I shall look at Iplayer. Have alovely evening :-)

    • Hallo Jane :high-five: it rained on me in GG too so I did very little out there, but it’s nice to have our friends, back from their trip to NZ and Oz, whom Dom collected from Heathrow this morning at some unearthly hour! I’ve been tidying and doing the housework in the C.P. Pads this afternoon , and trying to squeeze in mor…[Read more]
