Thanks, Sheila. Unfortunately they’d got hardly any fruit this morning – they’re getting worse and an online order from elsewhere is looming!

Morning Karen and Sheila :-) lucky, you two, at having loads of tomatoes – this is my worst year :-( Enjoy the day both :-)

    • After enjoying four ripened ones from the doomed Tumbling Tom I too have no tomatoes :disappointed: Lucky you Sheila :-) :rose:

Was thinking about you yesterday, Karen, when I read there would be bells tolling for Omagh :rose:

    • Thank you Jane, thought that the 32 tolls was a nice touch, for the 29 who died and then 2 for the unborn twins and a last one for all victims. :rose:

  • Morning clickers:-) persisting down here – all I need on the way to Lidl! Hope you have better weather and therefore a sunnier day ahead! Pile of beetroot to roast – and yesterday we had a couple of our own blueberries – yeah! HAGD

    • If you are going to Lidl, Jane – look out for their English plums. I bought some a couple of days ago (Belles) when they were unobtainable in Tesco and Morrison’s. :good: Lidl. The season for them is so short – and they are usually so much nicer than the Spanish varieties. Enjoy your day!

Morning Karen :-) hope you have a good one and can have a nice afternoon outside. Not sure what I’m up to as yet but no work in or expected – no complaints there ;-)

    • Morning Jane, hopefully you will have fresh bread to look forward to today. :good: Enjoy your freedom. :-)

      • Morning Karen and Jane, overcast here to but the sun getting through now and then, dug up the last of the Charlotte spuds yesterday, very pleased with them. :-)

        • Morning Dix, :good: on the Charlottes. I’d like to get my main crops through another 2 weeks, but the Kestrels are looking good. :-)

Morning Cilla :-) you sound tired from your click ;-) I take it you’re having a quiet day then. I cut some poppy stems down yesterday and put them in the shed, which was baking hot. Don’t overdo it today :rose:

    • cilla replied 1 week ago

Morning Jane. Doubt I shall get a quiet day, OH will want to go somewhere ;-) Your poppy heads should be fine and the ones in the ground will disperse their seeds.

Morning Sheila :-) yes, he is and he’ll be baking tomorrow! I’m giving him today off! He came back from Devon and gave me two acorns – must check for symbolism before composting them.

    • Bags of symbolism for the Celtic and Nordic people for whom it meant strength and potential. Druids believe that eating acorns helps to foresee the future – and the word “druid” translates as “oak knowledge”. Don’t really fancy eating them though.

Morning clickers :-) OH is back – and you know what that means: washing’s on, everything is everywhere, almost back to ‘normality’… Not sure what’s on the cards today but must take the mangetout wigwams down. Dry at the minute. The cosmos are in flower and looking pretty. The autumn raspberries are ripening too – not quite their time but…[Read more]

    • Shall expect you to smell the aroma of baking bread soon, just after the washing machine stops spinning, Jane. (Think I am right that Ian is the person who makes the bread). Bet he’s missed it, and is just longing for a slice of superior homemade… It’s just lovely to get back to normal in your own home.

Hi Jane :high-five: Hope the week proceeds well  :rose:

    • Welcome home OH of Jane, ;-) Gawd, flippin washing everywhere, deep joy. Why don’t you plant the acorns? Worth a try. :good:

      • gertie replied 1 week ago

I thought the same as Karen Jane, and anyway, I thought they were poisonous for human beans to eat!!! :rose:

Morning Sheila :-) glad to say I rarely have to think about socially acceptable clothing! Nice to be able to do want you want today and not be answerable to anyone else – my kind of life! Enjoy the garden!

Morning Sheila. Most of my days are scruffy ones….gardens and cats don’t invite smart clothes  Have a lovely day pottering and potting.
