• Well, not to be outdone by Karen’s @VegVamp fabulous Great Diving Beetle, I noticed this dragonfly nymph making his way to get back underwater after I disturbed him while I was trying to get rid of some of the gunge on the top of the pond. I also saw a newt I’d disturbed… The pond is clear under the algae as there’s lots of oxygenator in it and…[Read more]

Morning Jane. Breakfast and lunch will be as normal here just steak for dinner and OH will cook that as I hate frying, I shall do the accompaniments. Have a lovely day and :fingers-crossed: for some rain, the forecast is a bit hit and miss in that department.

    • Morning Jane, and Happy Birthday to your OH,

      • Morning Karen :-) OH says thank you  We need to find summat else to watch now ;-) Hope you’re having a lovely day :notacloudinsight:

        • Was actually thinking of putting a new group on for tv recommendations during these desperate times. Same sort of idea as the books one. Would anyone be interested?

          • I think it’s a good idea for those of us who like boxed sets, Karen but who don’t want to trawl through what’s available. Besides you, me and Cilla though, I don’t know who else watches anything ;-)

          • cilla replied 1 month ago

We sometimes watch odd things on BBC Scotland, ITV3 and Drama. We’ve been watching old Judge John Dees, Inspector George Gently and Inspector Lynley  You have to pay, though, if you want catch up on the Drama channel.

      • Hi Jane thanks for the article a very good read. I used to do a bit of sailing some years ago until work and garden got in the way, leaving me very little spare time at the weekend. Now retired I have never got back into it. When you aren`t sailing regularly you lose touch with friends and things change. I still miss it at times though.

        • Glad you enjoyed it, Frank :good: Didn’t know you were of the sailing clan ;-)

          • Yes I used to sail from Scarborough for pleasure at weekends, I had a litttle Westerly 22 for a few years. Then the commodore of the day asked me if I would crew for him on racing weekends, which my wife was quite happy about as ahe had problems with seasickness so this took the pleasure away from her. She was quite happy to spend the day with the…[Read more]

          • Just to add I think it was most yachtsman`s dream to pack everything up, sell up, and just sail wherever the wind takes you. That girl in the article did just that.

    • Thanks for that Jane, a great article. :good:

      • Good article that Jane, But not one I could follow, I like my creature comforts too much,And as Karen knows I always relied on a big engine, (Not a blanket on a pole,)  :rose:

        • You can’t help that, Al  I’ve only ever been in a little boat once and got really scared when I was expected to move to the other side of it in the middle of nowhere :nailbiting:

There is slightly less choice now. I assumed it was to reduce the difficulty of up loading large photos to the site. … :clover: :rose:
