    hi karen. dont think the manure was well rotted. i have had a look at the base, seems ok. the leaves started to go from the top. a few of the lower ones are still on , but they are turning.

    my bedding plants just arnt growing at all and as for the outside plants. well ive nearly given up. spuds might be ready by christmas with a bit of luck. :lol:

    can it get any colder for this time of year. :bad:

    • Suppose it depends where you are, Len. I’m sure it’s colder at Svalbard, or up Everest. (But it’s a whole lot warmer in Scotland.)

    • Have always thought that people living in the east must be tougher and hardier than us softies brought up on the west coast. We used to bathe perpetually in a warm prevailing south westerly wind – not quite so prevalent these days. This fact isn’t much comfort to you or your plants, but you have my respect.

    millions of pounds have been spent on the town. the theater for example has been closed for over a year. it is being extended so it can take in bigger shows. :good:

    yes it is anne. plenty going on in the city every day. the trouble has been that the city center has had bollards all over the place for months whilst alterations have been taking place. :bad:

    i live in hull, anne. sits on the river humber. as the crow flies suppose it is about 10 miles to the coast. we are fairly lucky here, never seem to get the extremes of weather :good:

      • yes it is anne. plenty going on in the city every day. the trouble has been that the city center has had bollards all over the place for months whilst alterations have been taking place. :bad:

    yes watched cheltenham on the telly. enjoy it every year. has done a bit in the garden and at the allotment, but hope to get really stuck in next week. only trouble is, the forecast is for cooler weather with frost on a night, so will have to see.
