If I remove a water butt, can anyone advise on my options for sorting out the downpipe, which is now in two pieces (with the diverter for the water butt inbetween). Is there a piece available to buy to go between the two pieces of downpipe so that it functions properly?? Just wondering if anyone on here has any experience of doing this and can offer any advice! Thanks in advance.
Yes if you go to your local builders merchant or even B&Q or Wickes any of these should be able to help you. What you are looking for is a straight down pipe connector I would advise taking one of the lengths of pipe with you for correct sizing this will fit inside the bottom length and over the top length.
Hi The easiest and cheapest way would be to remove the diverter pipe and fill the whole left in the ‘in between’ bit of downpipe with something like a cork/plug to serve as a cap.
You could also use a downpipe socket such as this from Wickes:
I would put a photo on of one i copied,But it wouldn’t be allowed on the front page.
