Hello all, genuine gardening question inbound.

Going to be bringing some strawberry planters to life in the next few weeks. It’s likely the plants will spend their 3-4 year life in the one container, not including the initial pot when capturing it from the parent plant.

What compost might be best in this situation? Am torn between John Innes 2 & 3 based products but neither seems exactly perfect going by their description. JI2 is the better short term product which could be best for the plant initially, JI3 seems the better long term product.

Opinions? Another medium I should be looking at?

    Ta!

Afters Duncan, any half decent multipurpose compost should be fine and then start feeding when they begin flowering. What size of container by the way? The compost will get exhausted of goodness fairly quickly if it is small. Good to see you on, how’s things?
