I’m going to watch it on catch-up. I watched the Barbara Windsor thing on catch-up last night. I seem to be permanently behind. There are very few things that make me sit down when the schedule wants me to. ;-)

Morning all. Bit of a dull morning here so far. I think it may stay that way today. Yesterday was lovely, Guinness and I went long walkies, almost 9 miles in the end. I may not walk quite that far today!… But it did help me sleep well. :sleepy:
I’ve finally started to get in a few summer bedding plants for baskets and balcony tubs.…[Read more]

  • Makes me miss the family of foxes we used to have visiting our London garden. I was busy then, with full time work, making sure “the kids” (they were children and young teenagers then) got wherever they were […]

Chilly here too, mainly cloudy but the sun tried a couple of times this afternoon. Pretty good walkies had despite that. Dropped into one of our favourite farm shops on the way home, so we have a lovely pie and some veg that I only really have to heat up, and a few naughty accidents fell in the basket too. Lardy cake for pudding. Pie and lardy…[Read more]

The owner of the venue took photos, as they ceiling decorations were just string with crepe paper streamers looped over. No huge expense, no time consuming crafting needed, no expert arrangement required.

That’d be up to their own silly selves!… Mobby having been a chef would know, but whether he remembered to tell his groomsmen I don’t know. I saw no pained faces anyway. :shout:

Thank you. I was so glad the wedding ceremony was informal. There were seats for bride and groom’s families and and for anyone who needed to sit. But I’m glad I stood with my son and his wife. It meant I could grab a hand at sniffy moments. A couple of dabs but no floodgates thank goodness.

It did thanks, the whole weekend went absolutely brilliantly. Because it was a house that could sleep 70, most people arrived Friday evening and set to getting everything ready for the next day. Then when everything we could do in advance was finished it was party time no 1. Music and dancing until 3am. :clock: How the bridal party…[Read more]

First time back after The Wedding! Still tired and it’s a bit chilly out there for naked gardening – world naked gardening day today I think. So I thought I’d upload a small album with a few pertinent wedding photos. They had a flower free wedding as new husband suffers so much with hay fever. Bride didn’t want silk, dried or artificial…[Read more]

No, just that he’s such a hay fever sufferer, she wanted something real rather than silk, dried or artificial flowers. Also he’s been a chef and is a consultant for restaurants and all sorts of food outlets, plus they both (we all) love cooking, so it was apt in that way. But I do like your thinking – good harvest and fruitfulness fits with some…[Read more]

This wedding was full of new customs.

Thank you. It was all really simple to put together, and as little as possible going to waste.

    • Is there a traditional implication in the choice of fruit, or have you all set a new tradition of your own? It seems like it should be a country tradition for a fruitful union/ harvest or something of the sort? :rose:

    • Very smart. Hope they remembered not to handle the chillies though. ;-)

We only have a few preview ones at the moment, and I won’t post many more, but thought the veggies theme might go down well on here. Lovely to have something we could eat afterwards too!
