    Dozing dormice hibernating
    Eager gardeners plan their ploys
    Chestnuts roasting by the fireside
    Excited children wait for toys
    Merrymakers in the market
    Business boasting better buys
Each one planning for the Springtime
    Rest in readiness is wise.

    Dawdle languidly
    Each gardener
    Carefully arrange your time
Eke out every day till sunset
Make sure that you use the time for
Bulbs to plant and seeds to sort … that
    Everything you need is bought
    Readiness then gives you rest.

Dear, have you fed the composter?
    Eek! Have I what?
Composter for soil my darling …
    Err … no I’ve not!
Maybe you should feed the composter
But if you don’t feel so bold.
    Eke it out until tomorrow
Ready for when it’s not so cold!

    How about some for

    January

    Jolly festive times are past
Aunts and Uncles all gone home
Now ’tis time to simply fast
    Usher out those extra pounds
    Also welcome in a year
Rich and new with seeds abounding
Young, new plants in trays at last.

Just found these Anne. It all seems ages ago (thank goodness ;-) ). I have lost a pound but can’t get enthusiastic with seeds in this weather.

    Festive feelings are long past
    Everyone has gone
    Bears, all cuddled furry-fast
Rest in bed, a Winter fast,
    Under blankets warm and snug
    All their dreams abounding
Ready soon to wake and roar
Yell, where’s Spring I want the sun…..

    Don’t we all  :rose:
