Hold your Tongue, by Deborah Masson

Just started this and it is pretty addictive from the start, be warned it is also fairly brutal from the start. Plenty of threads going on and some interesting and complex characters and a twisty plot. There is a second book in the series, published this year, which I’ll be buying. I will add to this when I finish it.

I see it’s her debut, Karen :good: Will be good to have another good Scottish writer as Rankin always has the stage ;-)

Yip, it is, but the 2nd is out in December. Rankin? What about Val McDermid? Love her books. But yes I like Ian Rankin too. ;-)

I can’t get in to Rankin for some reason.

Doh! Of course – Val McDermid, I love her! And for situation, the Shetland series, even though Ann Cleeves is English. I must be losing it ;-)
