Evening clickers waiting for red tomatoes has been like waiting for a bus waited ages then almost over night 7lb of red tomatoes appear :good:
    • One or two split. will eat those first. only grow 6 Shirly, taste good and nice on the show bench. .If showing at your local village show put small damp sponges over the green stalks ’till just before judging Keeps them looking fresh instead of resembling dead spiders

Morning all. A busy day yesterday. I made fruit cake, apricot crumble and salad, put 3 washes in and out and spent the rest of the day cutting back honeysuckle and hedging and watering beans. I gave some more courgettes away but can’t pull any out before the village show in 3 weeks. Haircut at 9 and probably a walk.

    • Morning again Cills, blimey you were busy yesterday! Those beans don’t half take some water, as do the spuds, which reminds me, must check my main crops, think they are nearly ready to lift. Enjoy your coiffure and walk. :-)

      • Morning ladies…No potatoes and courgettes for me just lots of pritties and tomatoes…Do I mis them erm not really BUT I could do with a couple more raised beds to maybe do one or 2 more things next year….Not told Baz that yet  ……How is kitten Cills???

  • Morning Clickers, lots of sleepy heads this morning me thinks, ;-) Very misty, grey morning here and another very muggy night so I’ve been awake for ages. A trip to Enniskillen this morning for a catchup with a friend. Weather is meant to improve later today, so might get into the garden later. Have a good day all. :-)

    • Morning petal……I was out of bed at 6.20 feeding cats and birds but back in it now with a mug of tea :-) Enniskillen and a friend sounds just the job, you can’t beat a girlie catch up ;-) Have a lovely time, are you swimming first?

      • Morning Cills, mug of tea in bed :good: yip, looking forward to the catch up, no pool this morning as I need to finish up a bit of work and see a client before I go. What are you up to? Noooo, don’t answer that, I’ll go and look first.

        • Hi Karen, I did pop in around five but felt lonely :-( ;-) so I went back to bed :clover: After a night of tossing and turning I then slept like log and now feel much restored after a bit of local shopping :good: :clover: :rose:

Watching some ‘World news’ tonight I was near to tears realising that a brother and sister, now around my age [and I have a brother 3 years my junior] were meeting for the first time since 1945, briefly, a one-off. They have missed 70 odd years of shared life together … it seems so wicked to me….nuff sed. Sorry, it’s little to do with…[Read more]

Foodbank first thing, and then I will be driving 50 miles to let my inner child out to play again with the wee one, while his parents have an evening off. I will be staying there overnight, since it’s his 2nd birthday tomorrow, and there will be a gathering of the clans to celebrate it.

Morning Clicker, pretty iffy, damp, grey weekend, and more of the same this morning. Dreadfully warm overnight as sleep wasn’t great but hopefully the pool will waken me up. More pea and beans to harvest blanch and freeze today and we now have apples to go with the peaches, yea. Had the first of Discovery yesterday, what a great flavour. :good:…[Read more]

    • Most of the northern stiff upper lips are beginning to wobble a bit here – grey is back, and has been with us for days – but we have wonderful memories of heat and light. Sounds like you are still slogging away with the blanching – I couldn’t face more tomatoes yesterday, and stuck all the split losetto in the frig to be dealt with today. Have…[Read more]

    • Your garden is glorious Allan … so very lush, green and happy-looking :good: :rose:

    • Hope you do get the sun soon Allan …. the grapes would then be all the tastier for the length of time they have taken ripening and maturing perhaps :good: :rose:

    • Them dwarf pines have to get cut back regularly,They have their feet in the fishpond, ;-) :rose:

    • Think these are brilliant, Allan – and I’d love to know more about them. It’s possible with climate change that I could try these – how have you found them – how long have these been in the ground, and what variety do you grow?

    • Thanks All, I’ll get back to to you on that Sheila, I have the name of the vine written on garage wall, ;-)

    • Think I might have overfed them a bit though,The leaves are too big and more of them than usual,More like triffids. ;-)
