• Thank you for posting this Cilla, it was lovely to share your private viewing to such a special place. It does look like a great deal of thought has gone into every detail – very impressive. :good:

HAGD All :rose: very glad for those of you who have had rain … there is hope yet ;-) :rose:
Shepherds’ warnings had never been so much wished for when I saw the Dawn around 05,00 this morning, and its light making pink shadows on the house next door!
  • It’s really good to know that this facility is being developed for people with life-changing injuries – and I hope the clientele will be selected on the basis of need and not simply because of service in the […]

Really quite overawed that all my puffing and panting up on the patio doing the Cherokee Rain Dance has been rewarded so richly, and over such a wide area. Shall have a lazy morning before I go to the foodbank, with only the greenhouse to water. The builder is coming today to replace the coping stone on the chimney, because the one in situ does…[Read more]

    • Good morning Bean, that was a very powerful rain dance then ;-) :good: All sounds to be progressing well with your roughcasting, how long before it is all finished? Have a good morning at the foodbank……has it stopped raining now?

      • Most of the workmen should finish this week, but the painter is too busy to come until September – and I am too chicken to reach the guttering myself, so I guess I’ll wait. I will paint the cills and coping stones though. It is still raining very gently, but due to finish this morning.

        • Your rain dance wasn’t strong enough to reach down here Sheila,Ask the builder lf he would paint then chutes for you, Or if one of his workmen would like to earn a couple of bob doing it,

Morning clickers. We managed a coolish walk in the woods yesterday morning. I did the ironing and watched the tennis final. Scorchio but a lovely breeze every now and then. I have to go and get some cash for our break to Norfolk tomorrow. Hopefully I have enough courgettes to make soup and later the garden will be hosed. Have a good monday everyone :-)

    • Dear Cilla, I do wish you could have a day of gentle rain such as we have had, to lay the dust and make everything green that grows a feeling of well-being. I can hardly believe my eyes though – are you off somewhere again? My courgette plants this year are behaving quite peculiarly, and each one is trying to grow at least 6 small courgettes…[Read more]

Morning Clickers, had nearly a full day of glorious rain yesterday so NO Watering today for me, YIPPEE   My arms are very grateful  Off to the pool shortly and then it will spud spraying again. With this warm humid weather the alerts have been coming regularly. :-( If it just stays away for another couple of weeks I’ll be…[Read more]

    • Morning Karen……rain, you lucky girl :-) It seems like a good year for everyone’s caulis, I must try roast cauli, I keep reading how good it is. Enjoy your swim :-)

      • Morning Cilla, I was whimperingly grateful. The Caulis have been great, :good: roast cauli sounds interesting, but wouldn’t want it over cooked as hate it mushy. ;-) See you are off to Norfolk tomorrow, you are a total gadabout. Have you every visited Houghton Hall there? A great friend of mine is one of the guides there. :good:

    • You haven’t mentioned your shoulder’s progress for ages Karen – how is it? Or the progress of your peaches, which must be nearly ready by my reckoning. Enjoy today.

      • Morning Sheila, and thank you for your rain dance – it worked perfectly here. The shoulder is functional and think that’s the best I’m going to get, it still gets very “achey” but even I’m bored with it whinging about it. It is what it is. ;-) The peaches are coming on well but it is usually late August, early September before they…[Read more]

  • Very pretty garden Anne and that looks like hard work in this heat too, and how kind of you to cut flowers for the little girls, am sure they’ll always remember this when grown up and with their own gardens too […]
